DOTS
Lead Validation, initially designed to evaluate and improve
online lead quality, has emerged as an invaluable tool in
preventing credit card fraud and chargebacks. The service
validates the name, address, phone, email, IP and the cross-validation
between them in real-time.
The result is a simple to use overall score from 0 to 100,
based on both the component validation and cross-validation.
Merchants can use the overall score with their own accept,
reject and review thresholds to make their billing applications
as strict or lenient as the wish.

Reduce Affiliate Fraud
Validating and cross-validating all the contact information
makes it much more difficult for an affiliate to impersonate
a real user. Other fraud prevention solutions rely primarily
on IP address which allows fraudulent users to more easily
complete the payment process by entering only partially correct
contact information.
Reduce Friendly Fraud
Users that enter a bogus piece of contact information are much
more likely to chargeback. By identifying bogus information
you can allow the committed users to re-input real information,
while the chargeback-likely users will usually be discouraged
by the requirement of valid contact information.
Increase AVS Match Rate
An added bonus of DOTS Lead Validation is address correction.
The system is extremely good at correcting mistyped or oddly
formatted addresses. If the address is found to be valid, the
system will return the USPS standardized address with the zip+4
appended. Using this corrected and standardized address with
the AVS system will reduce AVS false negatives dramatically.
